Raising Teens Who Talk to You: Co-Author News

Grounded in science, real life and the importance of staying connected through the teen years, Raising Teens Who Talk to You brings together therapists, educators, coaches and parents… and I’m so pleased to be a contributing author.

This book brings together a collection of voices, each offering practical, grounded support for one of the most complex stages of parenting.Inside, you’ll find:

  • insights into the adolescent brain

  • real-life topics parents are actually navigating

  • reflections on your own emotional triggers

  • guidance on how to stay close while letting go.

It is a book designed for real family life. Less theory. More support.

My chapter focuses on the Sitting in the Yuck framework I have developed to help parents stay connected to their child in moments that feel uncomfortable, uncertain or emotionally charged. The teen years can bring distance, silence or conflict.

It is often the moment parents feel the strongest pull to fix, solve or step in. But connection is not built in the easy moments. It is built in the hard ones.Sitting in the Yuck is about learning how to stay.

To stay present.
To stay curious.
To stay connected, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Being part of this book alongside other experienced voices in the parenting space is incredibly meaningful. It reflects a shared goal: helping parents feel more equipped, more confident and less alone.

The book launches in May 2026, and I cannot wait to share it with you.
